I originally recorded my own
instrumental backup tracks on CD's
 — kinda like Karaoke —
so that I could sing along with the tracks
 when I lead praise and worship
in  prisons, churches, and places
that are too small to have a band.

People started calling me "Barryaoke"
 and the name stuck.
